| BIG NEWS - MUSES (and ELVI) DO MAGAZINE STREET :: 8/26/2008 :: (Hot off the Muses email press): We’re thrilled to announce an extension of the Muses parade route this year! The parade will start at Magazine and Jefferson, and will proceed down Magazine to Napoleon, where we will fall in behind Babylon and Chaos and pick up the traditional route. Babylon and Chaos will start as usual on Napoleon. And to make things even better, we’ll be starting up to an hour earlier – around 6:00! The police feel that this will allow us to end an hour or so earlier also. The longer route means that we will need LOTS of throws. It’s going to be an exciting year!!! P.S. Druids on Wednesday night and D’Etat and Morpheus on Friday night will also be following this route. And Okeanos and Mid City will use it on Sunday. |

| One Week To Go... :: 1/24/2008 :: As I post this, we have exactly 6 days 20 hours and 18 minutes until we roll... So, pump up those tires, make sure the chain is tight, bedazzle that jumpsuit and package up all your throws! The Krewe of Muses starts rolling at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 31st, and we will be somewhere in that number. If any of the rookie Elvi have any questions for the veteran riders, now is the time to ask - and if any veterans have any tips or tricks to bestow on the rookies so their ride ends as a ride and not a stroll or fall, i'm sure they'd appreciate that - or not - either way... so anywho... we ride! thankyou... thankyouverymuch... |
| Support Our Fellow Muses Marchers! :: 1/7/2008 :: Come join the Camel Toe Lady Steppers at One Eyed Jack's [615 Toulouse] on Friday, January 11th at 9p.m. The Camel Toe Lady Steppers are having a fundraiser to benefit Roots Music and their Muses marching band. Saturday Jan 12th starting at 1:00pm we will be having a scooter rally on the Lakefront. Where West End Blvd turns into Lakefront Drive, there is a large parking lot on the right so come on out... That evening will be the King's Birthday Celebration at the Kingpin... Like last time we will have a pre-party at the Mayfair with food starting at 7:30 then mount up and ride the hogs to the Kingpin around 10ish... Thursday Jan 31st We Roll in Muses... | Elvis Presley Reese's Peanut Butter cups :: 8/19/2007 :: Looking for a different throw for next year's parade? Several Elvi are stocking up on Reese's limited edition Elvis Presley peanut butter cups, which contain "banana" (well, a plastic goo that tastes like bananas). Research shows that the cups are supposed to still be "fresh" well past the parade date, and if kept in a cool area (not the icebox or they'll "sweat") will retain their "like new" appearance and flavor! These treats have been spotted at Walgreen's and WalMarts on both sides of the Lake. |

| Mardi Gras 2008 Registration :: 7/13/2007 :: Registration for The Krewe of the Rolling Elvi will commence on August 15th, 2007 for Returning Members Only. Every member that Rode with the Elvi in 2007 will be guaranteed a spot to ride in 2008 if they register and complete payment for their registration prior to the August 31st, 2007 deadline. Following the registration period for Returning Members, Open Enrollment will begin on September 3rd, 2007 and will remain open until all spots are filled. Membership will be awarded in the order that completed applications are received with fulfilled payment. Payment will be processed via PayPal at the conclusion of the application process. New members for the open enrollment will be required to be sponsored by a returning rider. New members must contact their sponsor in order to receive a sponsor code that will enable them to register. Additionally, the sign up form will have a spot to list your sponsor so that The Krewe may match the new member to the returning member. Krewe throw information and order forms will be added to the website once they become available at a later date. Once again, payment through PayPal will be available... |
| Krewe of the Rolling Elvi Parade Information :: 7/13/2007 :: The Krewe of the Rolling Elvi was established in 2003. The Krewe pays homage to Mr. Elvis Aaron Presley in the most fitting way possible: on scooters during Mardi Gras. All of our members dress up as various versions of The King, and, as with most royalty, we do not walk. We ride motorized scooters. We have a truck leading the way which has bathroom facilities (our “throne”) and we will be playing Elvis hits throughout the ride. Throws are the responsibility of each individual King and there will likely be space on the truck to store a small amount of throws if you choose to. For the first time ever, DC the Kingly front-man of Clockwork Elvis will be belting out all of Elvis' hits Live, on his very own Rolling Elvi Throne Trailer... Our coronation for Mardi Gras 2008 is on Thursday, January 31st during the Muses parade (7p.m. start).
